He was involved in the shower making business for a few decades before the Aperture Science you know became a reality (I think it was called Aperture Science even while making shower curtains), and the guy had some pretty estranged ideas, three of them.
The Counter-Heimlich Maneuver (to kill a choking victim while they choked), Take-A-Wish Foundation (take a child's wish and give it to a rich adult), and a Handheld Portal Gun (inspiration struck while making shower curtains). Two of the ideas, Counter-Heimlich Maneuver and the Handheld Portal Gun, were accepted and funded. I believe he died awhile back while trying to create a mercury-infused shower curtain for his enemies, and died due to being exposed to it. If I recall, isn't Portal 2 (unconfirmed to be have being worked on, of course) supposed to have an AI using Cave Johnson's memory or something? |

Well, if it still works there is an "official" aperture science website with a huge flash 'game' on it. Entering in the codes there, gets you all kinds of cool info
And, an application to work at Aperture! |

The place where you fill out however many apparently pointless questions?
I've been there twice and it does nothing at the end. I must be doing something wrong. ![]() |

After logging in, type 'notes'. That should lead to the history of AS.

It's tricky, because there's nowhere that really has a full on explanation of any of this, plus to get some of it, you have to rely upon people like us here or posts randomly on forums, to figure out how to even GET some of the info.
Rather like ratman's signs themselves. ![]() |

Well, at the end of the questionnaire you're supposed to enter your 64-character whatever code.
First time through, I wrote down I don't know how many characters, then gave up because I knew they were changing on me. When I had to enter the code, I typed in what I'd written down and made up the rest. The second time through, I did a print screen. Then when I had to enter the code, I swapped back and forth between Paint and ApertureScience.com and entered what was on the print screen. (I didn't think it really mattered, but whatever. Maybe I should have typed "CONTINUE" and gotten the screen capture right before I pressed Enter...) Nothing happened either time. I waited for awhile for something to happen, and nothing did. |

As for logging your 64 characters... Note well that it's case-sensitive. Many of the letters are lower case.
And you can only type in upper case. ![]() |

You can find everything you need in the first post on the following thread. I put this together sometime ago to replace the old one pinned at the top since it's such a mess, but it didn't happen.
