Noone seems to have mentioned the intro on the australian version also being cut to shreds! The youtube "parody" video was pretty much spot on.

It's clearly just a quick copy of the german version of the intro, as there's NO BLOOD at all!!

Ok... Anyway, there's still a HUGE problem :
- dedicated server CANNOT be "unrestricted" or they would be close fast
- and then, you will not have any special infected (cops ...)

I'm not australian but i live near; i'm server-restricted by this stupid law from a country i'm not from :/

I played through the demo last night.. then I quit, I feel no urge to play the game again, its just bloody horrible. Don't get the impression that I'm actually killing anything.

Are there cut/uncut versions of dedicated servers or is it just dependent on the clients files?

I would think the latter, and then there is no problem... right?

I support the cause, only because l4d1 changes were not dramatic, it is removing NEW FEATURED CONTENT I.E. New animation system and some of uncommon commons (i bet police men are only thing, I think hazmat, swamp zombies etc. Stay) - last thing is ♥♥♥♥ing non australians in same time - and knowing fps communities, there may be people who kick australians out because it removes content from all.

Sad, aussies made mad max, sniper's voice is in game - australians deserve their non cencored past time - and germans too!

I'm still dumbfounded, as an aussie, as to why they didn't make the levels of gore the same as L4D1. They've totally killed a great game, now there is no sense of "achievement" or satisfaction from killing zombies... It feels like a flash game.

they didnt kill ♥♥♥♥..valve has every reason to make a video game,as violent,and gorey as they choose..not their fault,or ours cuz you live in a country thats afraid of violence

Nobody to blame here besides you, don't buy censored games if you don't want them. It's as simple and easy as that.

The issue is not that it is censored, and in that capacity I am happy I got to play the demo to see the level of censorship (and be able to compare it directly by modifying my installation to be able to see and experience the full L4D2 game). Most Australian's would have pre-ordered it hoping it wasn't completely ruined. Now that we've witnessed how dumbed-down the version is we are getting, we'd rather not waste the $50AU on it.

Infact, myself and a lot of my Australian counterparts are not going to purchase it until 1) it comes down in price to reflect it's actual worth in gameplay and experience or 2) we are able to play with no restrictions in regards to our experience with L4D2. As a 25 year old gamer I am disgusted with the OFLC of Australia being able to decide what is not suitable for me.
