Ew, yeah that's a faulty download. Definitely try again.

I downloaded a new copy of the mod, then got another flippin' error when I extracted the file using 7Zip. THIS one might be ignorable, though, since it's just a sound file???: CRC failed in ‘Aperture Deja Vu\sound\Deja vu\end boss - part 1.mp3.’ File is broken.

Please let me know what you think!

You have to use winrar. Not any other program, it's zipped with it, and has to be unzipped using it. That's where the error is coming from. Just download winrar and use it

I'll try WinRAR again, since I got a good download this time. (I hate not thinking of something obvious to try... D'oh.)

But you don't actually have to use WinRAR. Archive/compression programs often work with multiple compression types. WinZip will always *make* ZIP files, PKZip makes PKZ files (or whatever they're called these days), WinRAR makes RAR files. But WinZip can unzip/extract PKZs and several other types. WinRAR likewise. And maybe if I upgraded my version of WinZip, a newer one would work with RARs, too.

I'm still playing through this for the first time. It's a good mod and the different paths you can choose makes it have good replay value.

I give up. WinRAR gave me the unexpected end of archive error again, plus the error CRC failed in Aperture Deja Vu\sound\Deja vu\end boss - part 1.mp3. The file is corrupt.

Though if anyone thinks it's okay to try playing since it's "just" a sound file, please let me know.

That's really odd. I didn't have any problems with it, either during download or moving my files... Maybe just try playing it. Be sure you've restarted steam and computer

LOL at restart. That was so annoying (even though you were helping the guy, not me). Then I posted my long-ish reply to the HL1 guy tonite and saw your "restart" comment. How could I forget so soon!??

(I assume you're kidding about restarting Steam. Hmm, but maybe I should exit Steam and try this again! )

Hey it just might work, you never know. Of course, sometimes my computer's fans start rattling and I give it a soft kick (it's under my desk keeping my feet warm) and that stops...

>_> whaaaat.

Is it JUST that file, or do you think there are others? Maybe you should hop onto myaperturelabs and contact skinnycap there, he rarely does more than drop and run here.

I thought about that, but haven't done it yet. Good idea to ask for the single file, though!

Very Nice mod. Some of the chambers take a while to figure out, which is the fun part. It is more on the advanced side, there is no easy chambers at the beginning that teach skills that will be needed in the game, so if you have not become reasonably proficient at pretty much every type of Portal skill\move, it is going to be a very long game if not impossible.

Finished the first run through. Took a couple of hours I think; steam doesn't track status on mods. The puzzles are probably some of the best I have seen any any Portal Mod.

A few bugs, but nothing serious. I fell outside of the map a few times into a dark free fall that is typical of small cracks in the map. Had to reload to last save to get out of it.
