Exclamation VAC Ban Help Please!

Hello all,

Just a first thing to say, I will admit I was hacking, but NOT on VAC servers.

So I found out today I have been VAC banned. But why? I haven't played any VAC servers since I downloaded the cheats (Yea, I got bored and started hacking NON-VAC servers) and so now I am confused?

Might sound dumb but I don't belive I have done anything wrong. (Well, I have but I don't think you can get VAC banned from a NON-VAC server?)

Thanks all.
Blaizen

EDIT: Also I need to know, would I be banned from L4D2 already? Cause I've pre-orded... :'(

Just because a server doesn't have VAC enabled, it is not a license to cheat. The SSA you agreed to when you started using Steam states explicitly that you are not allowed to cheat. Please read it.

Some non-VAC servers will redirect you to a VAC enabled server...

If you are banned on Source engine games then yes, you are already banned from L4D VAC secure servers.

Another reason is some servers, for various reasons, don't always maintain a connection to the VAC servers just like players having that problem. Some servers will come up on the insecure server list and when you join they don't have the VAC shield, but later they gain a connection to a VAC server. This was happening to a server I was running, an old SourceMod extension playing havoc. But many things can cause a server to temporarily lose connection and then gain a connection to VAC again, when connected to the server you won’t know that the server has gain a connection to VAC.

Yeah! <clapping> Gotta love those redirects. Eventhough they may have been hacked and not secure, they still have it, and it gets 'em every time! God I Love It!

That SSA Absolutely Rules VALVe! Way To Go VALVe. Keep it up. Every time I see one of these I gain more and more respect for those guys everyday that keep this filth out. Not that I didn't have respect for them before, but it just increases it that little bit more. Utmost respect to you guys...I really mean that.

Redirections are not automatic, the player has to agree to the redirection, Blaizen hasn't said anything about being redirected. I doubt many people would accept a redirection under that circumstance, but it probably has happened.

He's not the only one not following Valve's rules

I think leaving things in context is a little better than selective quoting. I'm well within the rules thank you very much, and if you wouldn't have taken it out of context and tried to insert your own meaning into my post you would not be trolling.

I think even people who did cheat should be able to come here and get the information they are after without being abused. But I guess we will have to agree to disagree on that.
