5770 PSU
Hey guys,
just a quick question would a Coolermaster 460w be able to support a ATI 5770 paired with an i7 CPU? Thanks in advance. Last edited by Isy : 11-03-2009 at 11:55 AM. |

Short answer: Yes.
If you haven't bought it yet, it's not a very good power supply though, there are better ones available for the same price. Ahh ninja edit! With an i7 you might want a bit more power, especially if you're overclocking. |

![]() EDIT: Grab a nice big juicy Corsair 650-TX This gives you plenty of breathing room and no worrying about melting your capacitors in the PSU ![]() Last edited by Earthful : 11-03-2009 at 12:01 PM. |

Haven't bought it yet, I'll buy the parts tomorrow, just wondering about the power usage at the moment.

Do the maths. The TDP of an i7 at stock is 125 watts. The 5770 should be similar to the 4850, so it should be about 120 watts. Add the rest of your components and you should have at least 300 watts on the 12 volt rails alone. So look at something like this 450VX.
