Exclamation Prince of Persia movie trailer!

It actually looks solid enough! My only complaint so far is that Gemma Arterton sounds a bit annoying.

Could be good...but I'm not getting my hopes up.

I'm moderately impressed, for a game-movie.

Cool, I'm probably one of the few people who's not afraid to admit he likes Bruckheimer films....

Jake seems to fit the role pretty well.

So is Disney following the actual storyline?

Meh looks like it will be worth at least one viewing though the trailer probably had all the best stuff in it.It has been ages but I don't remember a girl tag along in the Sands of Time. The new PoP game yes but not SoT. Are my memories incorrect?

Yes, they're. They pretty much replaced the girl's name, which was Farah, to Tamina.

And yeah, while making changes to the story (but the script and screen story is written by the same guy who wrote the games), the basic story is pretty much the same. The only major change so far is that the Sands aren't released in the movie (for now, we don't know if they'll end up being released at the end).

Knowing Bruckheimer, I expected fun action and the trailer delivered, in that respect. Now will the movie deliver, that's another story.

I think it's a good thing (if it's true) that the sands aren't released in the movie. Watching Jake Gyllenhal fighting CGI sand zombies for 90 minutes would be rediculous.

There is always the inevitable sequel for that!

Nice special effects, camera work, locations and editing, but god awful acting. He so doesn't suit the role at all.

I had my doubts but he delivers as the Prince IMO.
I'd be more worried about Gemma Arterton.

I think the accent is good enough, if that's what Hawky meant, cos an American isn't going to nail the British accent anyway. The worst part though, was when he said "you have to be very thorough". That was pretty awful. Gyllenhaal is a good actor though and the same goes for Kingsley, Molina and Kebbell. So far Gemma Arterton hasn't really grown on me, although she's nice to look at.

I'm mostly worried about the writing, cos they have like 3 guys working on it (2 of them relative beginners) + the writer for the games. Hopefully Jordan Mechner is in charge of that group.
