IM JARATEED OF

everything i download on steam takes a million days to update. I installed team fortress 2 from my orange box disc and it updates 30 kb/s. cant I just search for patches and stuff on google. im sure it will be faster

There are no patches for Valve games to be found using google.
They are only gained via steam.

Go into Steam settings, then to downloads. Change the download setting from 56K to your actual connection speed.

change the location of your download server to somewhere less busy. Maybe a neighboring country or something. Helps for me, when it gets slow.

get better internet/change your download location

i have 27M internet and i download updates at around the same speed, have it set to >10M in steam setting. its epic

how do I know what speed my connection is so I can change it on steam >_>
