This is exactly the intent, Snaffu. Basically it lets people filter out a bunch of hat topics so they can get to real discussions. The point isn't to make the hat topics better or anything--just not so obnoxiously prominent. Any obscene quantity of pointless hat topics that would fill up that subforum are currently filling up the main TF2 forum, which is much worse.

I got up this morning, and once again, the word "hat" is on just about every thread title for the first three pages. Topics unrelated to hats have one star ratings or almost no views. :P

Well that would be a nice idea indeed . I dont think its a bad idea since most of the threads nowadays are hat threads which nearly do no good at all . Atleast then the page will be filled with gameplay ideas again . ^-^
Also why does everybody ♥♥♥♥ bricks about the L4D2 thing ? If you want the god damn hat then buy the game but then your pretty much a moron . I'll buy it because I want a new game and if your not willing to its your fault.

I think the reason they don't WANT to make a hat/accessory subforum yet is because the mods are too lazy to bother with every (Richard), Jane, and BILL that doesn't have enough synapses to read "HAT SUBFORUM".

Without at least a moderate level of enforcement, people are still going to create hat threads on the main forum in an attempt to whine/complain to more people and attract more attention to themselves.

After all, as you said, with nobody using the subforums, who would there be to complain to...?

TF2 as a game still holds up but i always feel so embarrassed visiting these forums to dig a few rare pearls in these gargantuan piles of swine ♥♥♥♥.

Hat subforums would help i think.

Until the next fad of idiocy will rise, but still -- it's definitely worth trying.
