I do agree they make it untradeable, just for the sake of it.

I'd just like to point out that not everyone who doesn't have a halo cheated/idled. I've had the game since '07 but only had like an hour clocked till recently as i didn't have a decent pc. I never even thought of cheating but i was still short changed, so why shouldnt i be able to be able to trade for a halo in the future?

Nobody cheated. It's not like it was a hack, just heavy idling. Even people that idled got halo so...

There was no "immense pressure to cheat." People used that of their own free will. They lost their stuff gained by it. Some people are lemmings.

I idled on achievement_idle. I have a halo. Now, how did that happen? Maybe because idling on normal servers is NOT against the rules.

Stopped readying here. The majority of halo wearers were just to lazy to idle.

*sigh*

Sometimes, I wish Valve did something other than just automatically give everyone a halo. They could've done other stuff, such as letting non-idlers pick the hat of their choice, or having them write down how the 4.5% cheated so we didn't get these "HURR I LIK HAOL BCUZ IT MEENS I NO CHEET" idiots.

Just no.

Plus what if someone really wants say a fireman pryo hat and has a halo and then there is a guy who never plays pryo with the hat he wants.... so what both can be unhappy or we can all get along and share and not be s about it.

Because it is a horrible systerm we have to join together to overcome it. If you ask me the only hat it wud be fair to do this to is the bill hat because it was a pre-order bonus which is fair enough. but still trade all for reason above.

Actually, allowing trading would stop some harassment. Remember "no healz 4 halos" or whatever group that was? Every day I see verbal abuse of people who have Halos. I'm certain there will be at least some resentment that you have to pay nearly fifty bucks to get Bill's Hat.

....actually, even if you have the game purchased in the early summer, or just in general before the Sept 2nd purge, and couldn't connect to a game server until AFTER that, you didn't get the Halo either.

....swear to God, that's what happened to me. I had the game bought waaaay back from the Spy/Sniper update, but didn't have a computer strong enough to run the stupid thing. So, I wasn't given the hat, 'cause 'time of purchase' had nothing to do with it; it was 'time of first connecting to a real game' did.

I disagree. It's your hat/item, you should choose what to do with it. Hoard it? Fine. Trade it? Fine.

Sorry this isn't WoW. Therefore I don't think any "Exclusive weapons or aesthetics" deserve to stay exclusive. You managed to get your hands on a rare item? Good for you. However I don't think people should be prevented the right to trade items they don't want or need, taking up space in their backpack for items they've been after for a long while. Not to mention, including rarer items like the "Gentlemann's Service Medal" and the "Cheater's Lament" would seriously help out the trading system. That plus crafting and a lot of this hat drama would boil over. It just needs to be implemented properly.
