disable hats option

Why?

1-MORE fps

2-make tf2 characters more original.I mean the beanie,football helm,pot,halos..etc broke characters style.

3-babies will stop crying.

please everyone mail valve..you can do this from report bug button in tf2

(bad grammar)

1- Not really.
2- Also not really. Check commentary option on TF2 to learn more about characters style.
3- Disable a good feature? Nah.

/end thread please.

If you don't like how the hats look, well, simply download other hat models. There already is a wide selection of custom hats, that look pretty much awesome.

Makes me wonder, why did no one do a de-hat-alizer pack yet o_o
It wouldn't be that difficult. Just replace all hat models with "empty" ones

Browse for your enjoyment

What surpises me most is how people are against this. What, if you have a hat everyone else should be forced to see it?
As I see it, if I have the right to see hats in game, I should also have a right NOT to see them(and play like they don't exist), so I'm for this idea(I actually proposed it a while ago)

it's silly how the OP thinks hats lower your frames per second. (great laughter)
thanks man, I needed a good laugh like that to start off my day.

*maybe if the hats were as large as the players, made up of over a 100,000polygons, had complex animated 3d textures while emitting particles real time....then they could lower fps....OHH and there would need to be alot of these huge suckers on the screen at once...*

Thinking about it, I also wouldn't mind this. I prefer how the characters used to look before the Gibus, the plain hair and the Pickelhaube took over.

3. no, it won't.

I have a gig of ram. It used to crash after a few hours of game play. Since the hats came out, I get in about 40 mins.

I'd like a "no hats" option too.

I'm not sure about your reasons, but I would also like the ability to turn off hats, just to have the game look like it did pre-hat update.

I think the different hats can sometimes make it confusing to see what class people are when they are poking their heads over the top of various objects

I agree with no hats. I have to give credit to Valve for doing something so trivial that makes people play more and spend more money.

If it's crashing, I've got news for you: There's something else going on with your PC.

Besides, ram is cheap. You can't afford 20 bucks for some bargain ram? Put down the pizza, and use that cash to buy some memory.
