That was one of the most intense part of that game, game-play wise.
Except your fighting against someone who's taunting you the whole time.

I don't understand how and why an empire like the combine would taunt at you.

But then again...

Or some unsettling dialogue during the battle. It doesn't have to be taunting. It just has to bother you, like the Citadel levels.

I want to see ep3.

I want it exclusively in a box containing the entire series to date, plus Portal 1 & 2, TF2, and ... whatever that other game is, for $60. This after it being promoted as being available in a smaller package containing only new content. Because it won't be out before there's a new generation of consoles.

I don't want: to wait as long as I've already waited. Will I really have yet another new PC before I see it?

I felt like the strider battle (Ep. 2) was redundant, boring and, worst of all, work instead of fun.

Yeah, I loved this battle. Satisfying in every way: the player makes their way to a brand new location, fighting multiple opponents at a time, with a new gameplay mechanic (changed properties of the gravity gun). There was never a moment where I felt as though the battle was a chore. It was over before I knew it, and that's the way gaming is supposed to be..

It needs to be big and have a generally long story line. The story took a huge dive as far what happened to the characters in EP2 and the next installment needs to really flash out the story as well as bring something new to the table.

Things that would be nice:
- A Major Engine Upgrade
- Long Story Line
- New things
- Generally just keep rolling on surprises.

Surprises are an absolute must. And they must be good.

I do agree with you.
Where did the APCs, Scanners, Soldiers, and Gunships go that we saw on the bridge?

I would like to see some new combine weapon on an epic scale.. For example, a huge space based weapon that causes land masses to break.. How cool would it be, jumping from one piece of falling rock to the other, while the whole world around you collapses? One time, I had a dream about running across a falling dam (scary), and I think it would be neat if something similar made an appearance in EP3. Mos of the time, when you are moving around, everything is around you is very calm.. What if the challenge lay in moving around, due to the chaotic nature of things around you?

A thought: maybe we will encounter them in Episode 3. We'd better..

I'm assuming you meant flesh. Episode Two already did that. Episode Three is concluding.

The road to White Forest would not have been devoid of obstacles.

I personally feel that sounds absolutely crap.

That might be fun. As a fan of Zen a little platforming would be fun however I think with the graphics style of HL2 it would probably be harder to pull off and look good than it was in HL1. Not only that some people can you imagine don't like Zen. Shocking I know!

I already feel like I (Gordon) was "betrayed" by Alyx. Where was she while I was in cell block D8??? (Don't answer that, I know she was at a security console. And if she'd been there, she might have died--especially with *me* playing Gordon... )

And I feel like there was another big battle she missed, but I can't remember what it was...
