Hey, don't feel bad. Think about it.

Would you rather try to save your colleague and your daughter, then ending up getting stabbed in the head, getting your brains sucked out thinking that your daughter and colleague are gonna die OR would you rather get blown to hell by your best buddy Gordon Freeman who saved millions of lives then ended up burning you to hell because hes a guilty mot- oh... actually, nevermind.

You are an EVIL PERSON!

Now when are people going to know when they're in Ravenholm!?

ROFL!

Somehow I think they'll figure it out...

If I can, I'll give you rep for making me laugh.

I'd rather be blown away actually. It'd be pretty sweet i'd think.

It's always the same number of soldiers no matter how many turrets you have. Combine soldiers come from four directions. If you're facing the teleport, there is one door behind it to your right (in the hallway) and two doors behind the glass wall on your left (one next to teleport, one in the back). The fourth door is the one you came through and Alyx sealed (they have to break it down first, though). So you're saying they came from fifth direction?

I'm wondering has anyone tried not to teleport themselves immediately? Is it possible to survive the wave of combine soldiers that storm the room just as you enter the teleporter?
No, the turrets don't become unfriendly, they don't shoot Alyx or Gordon or Mossman. Just Eli, perhaps because he is in a pod.

Your description confuses me a bit. If you stand in the center of the room looking at the teleport, i.e. the teleport is 12 o'clock, they come from 8 o'clock, 10 o'clock and 1 o'clock normally right? But in this case they also came from 11 o'clock, right behind the teleporter.

I don't think the big wave of elite soldiers come until the teleport closes on you, no matter how long you wait.

If you leave "friendly" turrets behind, then backtrack to them after a time, they may have been reprogrammed to become "non-friendly". I think if you take them with you, that doesn't happen. And as long as you stay in the area near them, they also don't get reprogrammed.

Actually, you can take it all the way up to Nova Prospekt. You lose it when you drop down to fight the last guard.

I've also never seen friendly turrets turn through a loading screen. I've taken a whole armada of them with me before. It's kinda like taking 4 or 5 Barneys with you in HL1 Your own personal firing squad... that requires way too much effort.

I've taken the first two with me up to D8 and they stayed friendly.

But after the D8 battle in Entanglement, I left the turrets at the cell block and went ahead with Alyx. I came back up later for ammo or something, and the turrets shot at me (there might have been a Combine soldier there, too).

Without replaying, I don't know how much time or how many loading screens occurred between leaving and returning in both cases (friendly vs. reprogrammed).
