No, it was a false positive. Update your definitions, I updated mine this afternoon and the reports stopped.

That's pointless, i've used Avira for a long while and it was always good. We're not talking about Avira, but the probably connection between this "false alarm" and the disappear of the game in our account.

If you purchased just a cd key for the game then you purchased from an illegitimate seller and the game has been revoked.

That's probably it. I just recently read a thread here with a VALVe moderator saying that keys bought in online keyshops are illegitimate. They may be removing them. He advised to buy DVD retail or from Steam only.

Not when the key was initially purchased fraudulently.

You should contact the seller as well as the site they are selling on (ex/ ebay).
