Gifted this game but got no Community Points

While on sale, i bought this game for a friend of mine. In the HANGAR DECK it says you get 300 Community Points when gifting this game to a friend.

When i logged in into Altitude after gifting, it added the friend i gifted the account automatically to my Altitude-Internal-Friendslist, but till today i got no Community Points.


Is this a bug? What can i do? I would really like to get the 300 Community Points, to buy nice skins for my aircrafts.

On the homepage it says:

Give the Gift of Altitude
Buy Altitude using the above PayPal link and receive +300 CP for each key purchased.
Share the keys with friends then use them for target practice

Of course that will be $ 10,-.

I would have gifted at least 5 copies if Steam gifting would have been a valid way.

Well, according to lamster it may be possible, though I have not tried it myself, the poster he was replying to seems to have worked for him. But, you have to follow a specific set of steps for it to work.

It's possible to get CP from Steam gifting, but because there's no way for us to track Steam's purchase system you have to fulfill the referral conditions very carefully. Here's the key point:

The account that will be registering the full version key you want +CP credit for must be created from an IP which has visited your share link (and nobody else's share link!) within the last 24 hours.

So assuming you haven't clicked any referral links in the last 24 hours, you should be able to do something like this:

2) Click the "IM" link, and copy-paste the friend URL from that link into your browser (it will be something like http://altitudegame.com/friend/<your_number_here>) -- visiting that page should mark your IP as referred by <your Altitude account>
3) Create Altitude accounts for each of the keys you purchased from this same IP, taking care to "Get Full Game" -> Register the keys (this is when the CP is awarded)

I can't guarantee anything, but I think the above steps will work.

HM Damn, he already activated the account, so the 300 cp are gone? DAMN! If i would knew that before. Is there anything i can do?

As long as the family member buys the game after clicking on your friend referral link, then yes.

I have used the method that lamster posted and it worked.
I have gifted two games and received 600 points.
