Exclamation Toki Tori is a seriously violent and f-cked up computer game not suitable for kids ..

... at least according to Dr. Craig Anderson:

http://www.psychology.iastate.edu/fa...endations.html

Quote:
How can you tell if a video game is potentially harmful?

[...]Ask yourself the following 6 questions:
* Does the game involve some characters trying to harm others?
* Does this happen frequently, more than once or twice in 30 minutes?
* Is the harm rewarded in any way?
* Is the harm portrayed as humorous?
* Are nonviolent solutions absent or less "fun" than the violent ones?
* Are realistic consequences of violence absent from the game?

If two or more answers are "yes," think very carefully about the lessons being taught before allowing your child access to the game.
I have to answer "yes" to every single of those questions when it comes to Toki Tori and its brutal, webbed-feet chicken that is equipped with horrible weapons that freeze or squeeze poor little animals.
And just to think of the mass-eggocide committed at the end of the game makes me shudder in disgust.

Toki Tori is clearly harmful to anyone playing it, especially kids.

So make sure that your children won't ever get a hold of Toki Tori - you should probably delete your copy if you are messed up enough to own one!

Additionally, Toki Tori promotes an unhealthy, cholesterol-rich diet ...

They'll probably cut the game now for Germany.

Actually it's kind of true...
Spoiler:

You have this chicken running around collecting eggs with legs. You get chef achievements. And in the end... you make a big omelet out of some of the eggs... That's just wrong on so many levels. Maybe Toki Tori and his mates are a cannibal chicken tribe...

But it's a game so it ain't all that bad.

OMG, hes a distinguished professor, well that tears it, it must be true.

A quick google search reveals that he has built his career on "Violent Video Games". I'm not suggesting hes speaking out on an innocent games for the money, perish the thought.

However, I'm definitely not a distinguished professor and can say with 100% certainty 'Toki Tori' does not fall into the category of (cue ominous music) "Violent Video Games".

We should work together and ban Lemmings, Pac Man and Dig Dug too. :-) Pacman just eats those dots and gobbles the ghosts, horrible simply horrible :-)

Pacman clearly promotes prescription drug and steroid abuse and it portraits cannibalism as humorous ... sick, just sick!
Once again, we have to answer "yes" to all six questions, we should really ban Pacman.

Using the freezegun to freeze your enemies can cause a huge block of ice to block your path if you don't plan accordingly. This used to happen to me on pretty much a daily basis in real life before I got help, kids need to know this stuff.

I laughed at this.

Seriously, that doctor is out of his mind if he was seriously thinking about cutesy little games like Toki Tori.

Perhaps he was thinking Call of Duty, or Medal of Honor or Counter Strike or something, but Toki Tori? Come on!
