There are several issues that users are experiencing with the latest update that was released for Left 4 Dead 2. Below are the issues that are known and possible solutions for them if there are any:
Issue: Crash at map change Cause: If you are using a GeForce 2XX and up video card on Windows 7 x64 with shader settings set to high Solution: Set your shaders to medium or low setting should correct this problem. An update is being worked on to allow for high shader settings. ============================================ Issue: The Parish not getting passed first map Cause: Isolated to Linux dedicated servers. Solution: FIXED ============================================ Issue: Dedicated servers not resetting convars after hibernation Cause: Example: Realism versus dedicated server ends up on a server, the game finishes, the server goes into hibernation, then another realism versus lobby joins and specific convars are not reset thus causing incorrect game play mechanics such as infected spawn distance, smoke tongue reset time, etc. Solution: FIXED ============================================ Issue: Crashing on precaching resources. The error appears as, or similar to: 5/- suvivor_bot: UTIL_SetModel: not precached: models/survivors/suvivor_teenangst.mdl Cause: Usually caused when the contents of a user-created addon map conflict with L4D2's official content Solution: Please remove any addon maps and mods you may have installed. You can find these in the following location: [[FOLDER WHERE STEAM IS INSTALLED]]\steamapps\common\left 4 dead 2\left4dead2\addons\ NOTE: If you wish, you may reinstall these addon maps one by one and test the issue until you find which addon is causing the issue. ============================================ We are also aware of the crashing after intro video -- please try Verifying your Game Cache Files to see if this corrects the issue. It is. Or would you call the missing of the tonfa/nightstick in every other campaign outside of parish ALSO a bug? No, you wouldn't. Both, the tonfa and the golf club are both bound to a single campaign.
The M60 however might be a bug, but we'll see... Whatever, something what I am waiting for since 24th of April (and I hope it get fixed soon): Issue: Passing-related lines are only avaible in english, subtitles only in 7 different languages Cause: Either forgot to be uploaded with Passing or not completely done yet. At least some info would be nice. Like "the dubbing is coming with next patch" or something. |

ISSUE: vpk addons (skins, radials) not working on ANY gamemode after the update. If they were disabled completely by Valve, then no addons of any kind would work, but soundpacks and campaigns/maps still work just fine. Regular vpk addons previously worked fine in Campaign mode.

Please, fix framerate problems after The Passing update. I'm administrator from a super versus 10 x 10 brazilian server and many people are regarding about it, including me. Game is keeping almost unplayable sometimes:

My cvar's are working fine since i put them in my server.cfg file. I had them in a separate cfg file before and they weren't working then.
As for the M60, i'm using a weapon unlock plugin that lets it spawn on other maps. people were using it on Dead Center last night. any map that spawns a grenade launcher, there's a 50% chance that it will spawn the M60 instead of the GL. Another issue that came out of nowhere for me was crashing at the MOTD screen, which had not happened until the update came out, began happening in TF2 as well, which makes me think it was something Steam related, not necessarily L4D2 specifically. |

Oh man, I'm glad you people are aware of these issues, it gets annoying having to monitor my dedicated servers. :/

what about single player? or when starting your own listen server? that's where I'd like em to work again. all was working fine there before the update
