Eu3 lag issue

Ok, so before i bought the game I tried out the demo. It worked absolutely fine without any lag what so ever. So I then bought the game. After I installed it i encountered terrible lag both in the menus and in the game map. I tried installing the new direct X and that didn't help either. I have all the requited system specs. Any one know what's going on?
