Post XBox 360 Update, A Lost Cause?

Hey, all. Recently, I started looking at all of the new things that Team Fortress 2 for the PC has to offer. Multiple weapons, new achievements, crafting, hats, a ton of stuff. Wow! This is great and all, but it seems that Valve has possibly forgotten about adding these things to the XBox 360 version (in The Orange Box). Now, I haven't played this game regularly, but would you regularly play a Team Fortress 2 with none of the updates applied? Valave hasn't mentioned their work on the XBox 360 update in months. What has happened to it? Is all hope lost, or are they still working on it? I need to know!

I don't think they forgot about it, but it's probably pretty low on their list of priorities. By this point, it may not even be worth the effort, but... I don't know. Last time I was at GameStop I noticed the 360 version of The Orange Box is now a Platinum Hits game, so it's obviously still somewhat popular. The game would need a massive overhaul in order to work properly on the 360, though.

I wouldn't play it, though. I have no 360.

No its not. At least not anymore. With a new update they can store up to 500GB of data with a flashdrive alone if wanted.

Max well over 1000.

However I do not believe the TF2 team cares anymore about the 360. However the L4D2 team learned from their mistakes at least.

Valve said that when they get all the classes updated, as well with other updates, they will work on a smaller (memory) version for the Xbox.
It's not a lost cause, it's a Just Cause.

It has been way to long to update it now.
It is pretty pointless, and I doubt they will.
(This is coming from someone who plays TF2 on xbox now and again,
Not a "Computer elitist")
Sorry, but I believe they said that the 360 was a mistake anyways.
(Not releasing it, how they did it)

Microsoft charges a fee for every update, so it's impractical to update in small chunks. They'll do it once the entire game is updated.

Calling the 360 a baby is like calling the PC a nerd.

It works both ways and is an easy way to start a flame war.

Valve never stated that they will bring everything after the Engie update.

inb4 pc vs. consoles flame war

But seriously, I'd like to see the 360 version brought up-to-date, even just out of curiosity. The console version I really care about is the PS3 version, but that one's like the despised stepchild that was murdered and buried in a shallow grave. (Meaning, it ain't gonna happen.)

The 360 just doesn't have enough system resources to handle all of the content at once more or less a paraphrase of what valve said at one time, not to mention microsoft would nickle and dime you for every update, so they'll probably just push out one huge update to screw MS over and screw you over as little as possible.

They also stated the console releases were a mistake to begin with at one point, at least one company realizes what a dumb idea it is to release FPS games on a console ;p

Hmmm, should Valve focus on their PC TF2 fanbase (which has 25,000 players on average everyday), or should they make updates for the 30-or-so players that still play the 360 version?

Last time I played the 360 version a few months ago, there were about 10 servers and only 3 had any players whatsoever.

The 360 version of TF2 is DEAD.

Just accept it already and move onto the PC version.

I switched from the 360 to PC a couple of years ago and it was the best decision (gaming-wise) that I've ever made.

This would be a great idea if you had a PC that could run it. The reason I bought it for the PS3, however, is because my computer, a laptop, could not run it.

And before anyone says "Buy a cheap desktop," let me ask you what makes more sense, to pay $20 for a game for a console you already have or pay $400 for a brand-new PC you probably don't need if your current one still works?
