Those are just online stores... which even Ben & Jerry's Ice Cream has! Battle.net is going to be an overlay/social network exactly like Steam. Bit of a difference in your comparison.

The short and ONLY answer is: no one knows.

No one knows, but we can guess given Blizzard's track record and everything else that has gone on in the market.

For instance, World of Warcraft is one of the few top-tier MMORPGs that has yet to show up in Steam.

Battle.NET is a fully-integrated service that relates well to the games they released. They solidified this by merging WoW with Battle.NET. There is almost zero chance Diablo 3 will be on Steam. No, I don't know that for sure, but I can make an educated guess.

I would love if Diablo 3 came to steam. I loved Diablo II back in the day and im getting Diablo 3 if its on steam or not.

But in the end its up to Blizzard if they want to add Diablo 3 to steam. Just hope that Gabe can do some smooth talking over the coming months.

Why would anyone want DIII on Steam if they can get it directly from Blizzard and integrated into Battle.net?

Considering who is making it, and they are planning on having their own release platform, I doubt it.

Besides StarCraft and Warcraft 3 are DRM free, only requiring a cd key for online play and I wouldn't want crappy Steamworks DRM on top of it. StarCraft II will require a Battle.net account and I can't imagine why anybody would want to add Steam on top of that if people complain about having GFWL and Steam in a single game (don't even suggest having a Steam only version of Blizzard games because that is just moronic considering THEY are the developers).

Diablo 2 is also DRM-free. And Battle.net 2.0 + Steam would be just waste of time, money and resources. New B.net has all those same features that are included in Steam. Well, except Steam Cloud.

And yes, Blizzard can do whatever they like to do. They have more money than most developers will ever get. And they have already huge and loyal player base.

It seems to me blizzard games are all must haves. despite a lot of steam games i have i would trade them all for sc2.
