MDK graphical artifacts FIXED

For those having this problem

http://img5.imageshack.us/img5/3994/...2505512804.jpg

With Direct3d and unable to use software mode, here is a fix.

Go to "gamecopyworld" and download the MDK windows 95.exe. (I'm pretty sure this is perfectly legal as you are not using it to duplicate illegal copys) and apply it to the MDK folder. (You don't need to replace the D3D vesion). Rename it too "MDK_soft.exe". Then, right click it's properties and set compatbility mode to "windows 95" and disable "Desktop composition"/"Desktop visual themes"/"Display scaling". With all these of these turns start up the game and it should be gone.

If you have problems with "pink textures" or other graphical artificats read this for a fix....

Honestly, the game should not have been sold in this state without some sort of update, very disappointing that Valve didn't have some sort of quality check.

MDK95.exe actually didn't work for me, the colours were all messed up, but I've found another solution.

Again, download the crack from gamecopyworld: http://m0001.gamecopyworld.com/games/pc_mdk.shtml

but extract the MDK3DFX.exe file into C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\MDK

Then, download Zeckensack's Glide Wrapper from here: http://www.zeckensack.de/glide/

This is a 3DFX Glide emulator. All you need to do is install it. It doesn't need to be open in the background when you run the game.

Run the game using MDK3DFX.exe and the game should run fine. I didn't need to adjust any compatability. Add it into Steam or whatever.

Can you guys post screenshot comparisons of D3DFX and 95?
EDIT: Nevermind, I tried both and D3DFX is better. Thank you guys for all the help.

Rather than just adding it to Steam, rename it MDKD3D.exe and replace the MDKD3D.exe in the MDK folder, that way the steam version will work.
