Rolling to put out fires caused by a napalm spraying flamethrower would be silly. No the game isn't based on realism, but much of the physics are in terms of movement, weapon ballistics and such. It just doesn't seem right and frankly it's too easy. People should learn to burst fire the flamethrower, direct their fire better and use the extinguisher alt fire if they light up a teammate.

The "stop" means "stop panicking". Which seems a lot to ask of someone who's being ripped apart by aliens while on fire.

Actually, is it supposed to be a napalm (or other liquid fuel) thrower? Because both the range, spread, and of course, clip size imply it's gas based.

No, don't like the idea. If your team is full of muppits who set you on fire, l2p. If you set yourself on fire, may god have mercy on your soul.

No. That's what the flamethrower is supposed to be like. If a teammate sets you on fire and fails to extinguish you, heavy friendly fire happens. That's simply how the gun works. If you could just roll fires out, the parts of the game with fire where you need to extinguish it to proceed wouldn't matter. Just roll through it.
