Awesome!
This title is FINALLY on Steam! Weekend deal maybe?
This is probably the most ambitious game ever undertaken, you literally RULE a country. My main criticism of the title is that there is WAY too much combat, and not nearly enough focus on the governing aspects. Still worth a look when the price drops a little though. |

Is this even comparable to Civilization in terms of quality of game play?

This actually looks pretty interesting. If it gets bad reviews for merely being too complicated and not dumbed down enough, than I may be interested!
![]() I hear there's an expansion pack called Global Crisis too. Will that be coming to Steam aswell? |

I wish Steam would get Superpower 1 & 2. I haven't tried this one. Back in the day I used to play Shadow President too.

While both series share the same genre, there are some notable differences between Superpowers and Supreme Ruler. I would say the primary difference is that Superpowers presents a more Strategic combat system (working far out, watching battles unfold) while Supreme Ruler is more tactical level battles (battalion level control, position your artillery behind your armor). It often depends which of these styles you prefer for which game you'll prefer. IIRC Superpowers also has more in terms of "setting government policies" sort of features. I believe our product has more scenarios/campaigns to play through but I could be wrong on that, it's been a long time since I looked at Superpowers.
Hope that helps somewhat, if you have more specific content questions feel free to ask. |

Thanks for the reply.
I'd prefer more combat control so that is good. However I'd love to have all the options of running your country + combat control. Civ 4 kinda does that but you only get 32 civs at once and it takes forever to play or even get a modern scenario like these games. |

Oh, you still get massive control of your country in SR2020, things like research, taxation, social spending and diplomacy. We just abstract things like elections (if you have enough support, you win, period). Try reading some of the AARs on www.bgforums.com for a better sense of the game.

I have civilization 4 and supreme ruler 2020. The games have differences, so it's hard to compare them. I'll say that supreme ruler is requires more brain, though, because you must have some basic economics knowledge, while diplomacy and resources handling is really complicated and takes quite some time to get used to.
