Hey there if your Xbox is the normal 20Gb version you should have the normal HD cables (red,blue,green). With those cables the image looks pretty amazing and you cab set your settings on the xbox dashbord to 1080i to get the best out of it.

For the games, MW2 is a good choice but the extra map packs aren't worth buying in my opinion and I suggest buying assassin's and/or Red dead Redemption (two great games) because MW2 is fun but it gets boring after awhile.

You can connect the HD AV cables to your screen to wherever the slots in your TV are, in case you didn't know. The component often offers the same image quality as the HDMI cable, it simply handles bigger resolutions, and of course, better images.

Based on my experience, I don't recommend you to buy Modern Warfare 2. The campaign is quite great, but the multiplayer is unbalanced and incredibly ridiculous. I dropped it after two weeks of playing it; instead of wasting money purchasing Microsoft points and getting ripped off with DLC, you should check the arcade games, or games on demand.

I suggest you pick up a different title, similar to Gears of War, Borderlands, or Red Dead Redemption which will keep you entertained for quite the time.

Yeah, get Gears of War 2. You can find the game, with all of the DLCs included for $30.

Component should be capable of 1080p. Rather your TV supports it or not is another thing, though.

Buy 1 month of LIVE for only 7.99, not including taxes, so buy w/ credit card
Buy a USED copy of Modern Warfare 2, but be sure to ask the clerk if you can check the disc's condition before you purchase. You don't wanna be stuck with a faulty Modern Warfare 2. That'd cost around 30-45 dollars. And DO NOT BUY THE MAP PACKS, They are not worth it at all.

Right now, instead of using all of your budget ($150), you have $102 dollars (Assuming that there are no taxes applied to the LIVE Subscription, and The used copy of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is $40) remaining. In which you can spend to;
Buy a new game, in the situation in which you lose fascination over MW2, and desire a new game. (Recommendations: Halo 3: ODST, Assassin's Creed 2, Red Dead Redemption, Mass Effect 2, Alan Wake, Left 4 Dead 2, The Orange Box, Borderlands, Gears of War 2, Fallout 3 and/or another game for another system, in your case, PC)

Btw, Halo games give me a headache (everything lokos the same. I don't like 3rd person games so Assassins Creed, Red Ded Redemption, Alan Wake, don't count. I am not into RPG games so MassEffect, borderlands don't count,

The only advantage that I admit the PC has over the Consoles is the "Aim, shoot and jump all at the same time" ability. Besides that, the console controls allow more accuracy, ex: Mouse Waggling on the PC.

I personally think that controllers are better, like seriously, the keyboard is so blocky. I prefer laptop keyboards because then I can type faster, with less effort.
