I own loom on steam, and I downloaded fm-towns version from the link. But it never asks me for a password, and when I run it from ScummVM, I never get the "please choose your skill level" screen.

Plus, it won't let me learn the F-note from the clam, so I think it is stuck in demo mode. can anyone help?

well i tried again, it asked me for the password, i pasted in the first 8 characters like i was supposed to, but it gave me an error and told me to delete my clientregistry.blob

That's because I just made it ask for passwords again - that was broken serverside a while ago and I forgot to change things back. I don't know why a 404 is returned now, but I'm looking into it.

Whatever the case may be however, this isn't a demo version. The FM-TOWNs version just didn't have difficulty selection, as the page points out.

Edit: All fixed now. It asks for the password and delivers the goods when you submit it.

oops, sorry bout that. guess I didn't read as close as I should have.

Well i never got the password to work, but I have a copy of the download from before the password was implemented.

I guess there's more I have to do in order for the game to give me the F-key

I tested the password and it worked fine. Could you PM me what you're putting in?

Edit: oh gawd, the value had changed. How am I going to keep on top of that kind of thing? Anyway, fixed in this regard too now.

yep figured it out... I guess the conditions you need to meet to get F are different from the version I played 20 years ago.

What I listed does not come with the cd version.

There's only some sound effects, shorter cutscenes, no closeups? and only music in cutscenes
