[FIX] DoD:Source not responding on directx 8.0 and 8.1

Can Valve answer me why dods not responding on directx 8.0 and 8.1 on official maps with TNT dod_jagd, dod_colmar or another maps with TNT and without TNT like: dod_claremont_b3, dod_marseilles, dod_almere. Also game crash on maps like: dod_soviets_rc1, dod_bavaria, etc. Will be fixed in one of the following updates?

P.S. On directx 9.0 or 9.0+ all maps work.

the det maps need dx 9.0 or 9.1
It has been this way for a long time

... Some players are unable to play on directx 9.0 or 9.0 + because video card supports only 8.0 , just software supports 9.0, 1 frame per few seconds in game, 0 fps...

I also have this problem. But I found where the problem. The problem in the clouds
Here:

For anyone who needs to play in the lower dx levels this is an awesome piece of work by Russian Player.
Even though I no longer need to use that command, for those that do this is soooooooooooo useful.

You can open wordpad and copy & paste the code, then save and add the .vmt extension manually.

Can u guys Help me.

i have a problem about my day of defeat source. i have directxv9.0, so the problem was, this morning when i open day of defeat source it went tru a automatic update which is cool and no prob at all, so after it update i press play game, the game load fine till when i started playing i notice that my gun has black spots or holes in it... it really frustrates me to see the holes or spots on my gun,,, can u guys help me.... pls pls pls pls, i really need u guys pls...

They really need to fix this. The workaround posted here does indeed work, but it only works for local games and non-pure servers. As soon as I try to load up dod_jagd/colmar on a server marked pure I get the same thing I used to get: the game stops at "retrieving server info" or whatever and I have to kill it manually.

There is no reason Valve shouldn't be able to fix this. It's 2 files! What's the sense in telling the game to use dxlevel <90 if it's going to try to do it no matter what?

Of course, yes, I can still play the other maps and the game isn't useless without this fixed -- but I rather like the demo maps actually, and I don't like having to kill the game whenever my servers of choice load up the maps.
