Flawed Game Logic

To be honest, the only reason I got this game was curiosity about the trains.

Try this. Find a city that turns steel into cars. Build a steel plant and ship in ore.

The steel must be transported to ANOTHER city in order to be used at all.

I can understand why they might want to let you ship your steel somewhere else (although shipping goods doesn't reduce costs any).. is there no way to turn this off though?

Goods from a city cannot be resold to the same city.
It's a game balance thing so you can't have a train constantly taking and providing mail and commuters from City A to City A. You can't turn it off.
However, if you have a city nearby which also has a steel mill and auto plant, you could make a fortune with a train that just ships steel and cars back and forth.
