The Ship Updated with World Leaders Patch!

Today, on the 24th of October 2008, The Ship has been updated with a patch containing new content, code and gameplay updates! The is is the first patch we've done for a while but we think you're going to like it!

We have created a new set of characters: the World leaders, including some of the most well known political figures who have or still do strut their stuff on the world stage... To play using these new characters you'll need to download the World Leader patch first. This is free of charge to everyone who already owns the game and will happen automatically when you try to launch the game from Steam. If you're new to The Ship, there's a special offer purchase price for the weekend, ending on Sunday.

Once you've launched the game, select one of the new World Leader game modes to play with the new character set. We've also created a brand new Ship: Krassin, the icebreaker. It's a luxurious but frosty place to play at murder...

All new players of the Ship: if you purchase this weekend and experience any problems, please visit our forum (forum.theshiponline.com) where we have an excellent troubleshooting FAQ which should solve any issues, should you experience any! You can also find the game manual and other tips on gameplay on this site.

The update is now live on Steam, here's the changes:

1. 3 new World Leaders modes: World Leaders Elimination / Hunt / Deathmatch.
2. 8 new player character models for use in World Leader modes.
3. New map "Krassin" (repurposed former Icebreaker).
4. Fixed bug with weapon damage and balanced damage amounts.
5. Changed item spawners to spawn 1 of each type (weapon, outfit, attachment or needs).
6. Changed item spawners to always spawn a weapon first if there are no weapons in already.
7. Quarry hint update changed to give continuous updates.
8. Added a compass with arrow and deck indicators for player and quarry on HUD.
9. Fixed security cameras not updating a player's security status correctly on Cyclops and a few other locations on other maps.
10. All maps built with HDR lighting.
11. Removed collision with door frames to give more room in tight door spaces.
12. Fixed volume levels for various sounds.

Very nice, made me want to install the game again. To my surprise there were actually quite alot of players online! I hop it stays that way. I for sure will tip my friends that now is the time to buy the Ship.

The weekend deal made me but this game. Is there any chance of getting the game to use the Steam Community name, so you don't have to set your playername in the game?

Lol, well, I know I'm late saying it, but glad some people enjoyed the World Leaders.

We really should have tried to put more PR onto this one, I kinda expected outrage from the press, but it landed without a ripple...

So what is/was this? I got Ship gifted to me as I won a steamgift thingy, and I am curious as website doesnt work.
