Retail version works perfectly with Windows 7!

I'm just posting this for anyone else that is having problems with the sh*tty Steam version. I just received my brand new (still in the cellophane wrapper) copy of Manhunt in the post that I bought from ebay last week and just installed it on my MacBook Pro running Windows 7 Home Premium 64Bit without any problems and just played it quickly and I can happly report that it appears to be working perfectly so far touch wood and I didn't need to apply any patches or hacks or even run it in compatibility mode!

Are you able to elaborate, Manhunt wont even start or you can't progress any further than the second hunter because the gate wont open and the game crashes to the desktop? Do you know what retail version of Manhunt you have because I think I have the US big box version but I only got the jewel case containing the 3 CDs and not the cardboard box or the manual.

I hate to say this but whoever was in charge of the steam version of Manhunt really dropped the ball. Same goes for Midnight Club 2, and any other game that won't run on windows vista/7. If a patcher can modify the game so it will run then that patcher should be included in the download.

MC2 (Steam edition given away for free recently) works fine on W7x64.

I'm glad I own the retail version, as I never had any problems. Played it a while ago on Win 7 64 bit with zero problems. Just remember to open the game as administrator and set the compatibility to Win XP SP3.

STEAM version works too, just install the 2.1 patch, go into your Manhunt directory (C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Manhunt) rename the manhunt.exe to something else, then download this new manhunt.exe, make sure compatibility mode is off and boom, the game works.
