Exclamation Multicore stutter still not fixed?

According to this thread
http://www.redlynxtrials.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=165

it should have been fixed long ago, but its still freezing and lagging along here, and I can fix it by setting core affinity to 1 via task manager. Anyone else?

Will this ever see another patch?

That was an old thread. I've not heard of anyone now adays having problems with multicore processors. The biggest problem is that the GPU runs full speed, which can quickly overheat the system and cause the frame rate to drop significantly. Particularly in laptops. The only way to fix that is to download some frame limiting software.

I don't know if this is the cause in my case; Speedfan shows smooth 55°C while running the game (watercooled 8800GTS). And the GPU power consumption should already be limited by the forced v-synch in the driver settings, which maxes it out at 60fps.
(By the way, the freezes/lags are there with as well as without v-synch)

Dunno *shrugs*

Try this... Disable the hardware sound and use the software sound... worked for me and I had stuttering issues forever.
