Game Won't Load

I've put this up on the CM forums too, but haven't gotten a response. For a dead game for the most part, I can see why, but still...

So, I've deleted all files then reinstalled. I even reinstalled G4WL. I've updated my video drivers.

Everything I do, the game now freezes at the screen. "Please wait while the shaders are being loaded." And I'm not talking just the game... sometimes my entire system locks up completely.

system specs that I can remember :

AMD 64 Dual Core 2.0ghz
4 gb Ram
Nvidia GeForce 9600GT

Any thoughts?

You probably wont get any response from CM FUEL forums as very few people post there due to the strict moderating.

So its freezing on the 'shader loading screen'? Something you could try to do is bypass the shader loading process entirely...

1. Go to the fuel directory:
   ~\Steam\SteamApps\common\fuel
2. Open usergame.tsc (with notepad or something similar)
3. type "DisableShaderCompile" and then save. (you can type it anywhere in this file)

Now when you start up the game it will bypass the loading process for shaders entirely.

I don't know what effect this will have if you haven't compiled the shaders at least once, but its worth trying to see the result. The problem is likely your processor, as its only a 2Ghz dual core and this is likely why its freezing up. Your graphics card and memory are fine though.

that's the thing. I've had it installed on this system before... and it's worked fine. I'll see what it does either way, thanks.
