Launch Issue on Vista? Try this.

Bought it today for the hell of it. Game didn't want to launch. Executable kept choking, pulling 50% CPU cycles until I killed it. Did a little digging, and most of the issues others had seemed to be related to audio. Tinkered around a bit, but finally found something that worked for me.

So, if you're on Vista, you keep hitting that icon, and the damn game never launches, try this:

• Navigate to the install directory. (\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\hinterland)
• Delete "OpenAL32.dll". You may or may not need to be admin.
• Launch the game.
• Assuming the game launches, go into options and change the "Audio Provider" to "DirectSound".
• Hit "Apply" and enjoy.
