I came here looking for tips. And I found them. A big thank you to the unwashed illiterate masses! =)

A good thing to do is drop a few months into EVE Online and learn about Transversal Velocity. Once you have that down, you can apply similar logic to catching asteroids in orbit

I found it pretty easy as a no-life planet. Simply gather asteroids, and then snake remaning asteroids in so you can gather them.

I got enough that the orbital rings went all the way out past the corners of the screen
One thing that helps a lot is to try to capture asteroids such that they barely move in their orbits. With vectors drawn, that means moving directly away from an asteroid while its vector points directly toward your planet |

odd that was the first achievement i ever competed... was by accident.
did it a second time deliberately and it was sort of hard i have to say, though more tricky sits better i think. but then i had lots of practice when i had to get that 6 star system. feeding all those planet was hard. when you can do that as a star and it mass, you now the concepts and its jut less work, as you have no real mass as a planet. it's useful to have 5 or so astrises hanging about for a few mission any how. i see then as one shot shields, or food mostly. so try and build up a 6 star system and then go back to it. |
