Fortix: 4 hours completing the game 100% on easy and impossible and getting all the achievements. Fortix 2: 10 hours completing the 100% on impossible and 90% on easy. Still need ~200 dragons and to figure out the secret achievements. Btw, damn some of those levels are really hard on impossible (well, sure, "impossible difficulty" wouldn't make much sense if they weren't).

It's great game but I think it still suffers a bit from the same things as the first one where capturing small pieces one at a time to get control of half of the map. Which isn't fun and is easy to do. Like demonstrated here:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qNUucCV--EI I had problems trying to get a perfect by capturing one tower at a time but when I just captured it this way the level was very easy. Otherwise it's very addicting game and I hope we will see more content in the future! |

My GPU fan starts whirring a lot, because Fortix taxes it completely - which is a bit odd for a Geforce GTX260. Is there no frame rate limiter in the game?

As a part of the update we added two extra packages to the directXRedist so I highly recommend everybody to run DXSETUP.exe again from the game's directory who is experiencing this kind of behavior. Edit: You can find this at the following location: "\Steam\steamapps\common\fortix 2\directXRedist\DXSETUP.exe" Last edited by Nyaki: 05-11-2011 at 05:13 AM. |

I enjoyed the first Fortix, and am hoping this is better (first was nearly impossible to control on a PSP, due to the tiny graphics.) I am wondering why it's described as "reverse tower defense". It's Qix with new graphics and a few twists, but absolutely nothing like tower defense. If anything, branding it what it is, a modernized retro arcade game, would seem a better marketing move.

I think they should change the description.
I don't recall the name of the genre, but its quite old, I've seen it in arcade machines that have over 20 years. It's 'screen capture' or 'screen cutter' or something like that, but the description says it's something like an 'inverse tower defense'. It's way more like those old games than tower defense ones. Edit: I remembered this game's 'grandpa'. It's called Qix. I wasn't going to buy this game on the first place, because of the wrong description. If I knew it was a 'screen claiming' game like Qix, I would have bought it much sooner. Last edited by MithranArkanere: 07-06-2011 at 04:24 PM. |
