Crosswords Save Question - Please Help

Ok --

I have a save going for Armored Princess. If I purchase and install Crossworlds, will that update my save started in vanilla Armored Princess to Crossworlds, or will I need to start a new save to unlock the new content?

Might sound like a silly question, but some games have been like that in the past. I don't want to get too far in vanilla Armored Princess just to have to start over.
