I live a few miles away from this town. People have been buzzing about it for days, particularly when I go to work at the grocery store. The local paper has been running numerous exposes on teen dating violence.

Though I didn't know this girl, the way she was killed by her ex-boyfriend - a guy with no previous criminal record, is particularly brutal and is somewhat shocking, even to me.

So this guy just forfeited his freedom, his hockey scholarship, and his future... over a girl!
