Install from disc?

Hi,

I just got my copy of JC2 in. There is a DVD in the box, with three largish 1.7GB files on it, and yet steam wants to download it o_O

I have a pretty awful connection and downloading 5 gigs would take days. Is there any way I can install from the physical disc? Why put a DVD in the case if it isn't used to install?

Thanks!

I would run a full install then let Steam sort it out, if you then add it to your games list it should avoid the whole download.

I have done the same with loads of my games, not sure why you wouldn't just do an install first then worry about registering it with Steam after.

Either way the point remains, run it from disc then let Steam sort it out, if all else fails read the 'readme.doc' or 'manual.doc' on the disc.

I'm not given that choice. Selecting install opens Steam. This is a Steamworks game.
