Angry REALLY low fps

Hey, I bought Amnesia a couple months ago, but couldn't play it because it crashed every time I started it up. But, I recently updated the drivers for my Intel HD Graphics card, with the OpenGL support, so now I can play it. I really love it, however, I get INSANELY low fps on almost every part of the game. I'm talking 5-10 fps, if I'm lucky. I have every single effect turned off/set to low, and even on the lowest resolution possible I can't get more than a consistent 20 fps.

My specs are:
Intel i3 2.6 Ghz
Intel Integrated HD Graphics
4 GBs RAM

Any help?

I'm thinking it's your Intel graphics. Even though your GPU supports the required features, Intel GPUs have always been weak. (Trust me, I have one ) The fact that it is sharing memory with your CPU is making it run even slower.

Besides upgrading to a new card, I suggest closing all background applications before starting to see if that helps a bit.

Alright. I'm planning to buy a totally new desktop by the end of the summer, I just wondered if there was any way to make it a little smoother. Thanks though

Just to save your money, a new GPU will do just fine I think. Unless you want a fully dedicated gaming PC.

Do yourself a favor and go and buy yourself a shiny new graphics card. You'll thank me later!

Make sure to turn off all other programs before playing and any possible background task that could be interfering. Also if you use an Aero theme in Windows, switch to a simple theme without any fancy effects before running the game.

Idk why Intel bothers with making graphics card since you can basically get a laptop around the same price with dedicated mid range graphics on it. I played this game on a mobility radeon 4670 and it ran smooth on mid-high settings and the laptop costed like 650 bucks.

it depends on what kind of laptop you use. if you have AMD 5000 HD or NVIDIA 400 series at least 512MB, you will be fine with any game. it is so stupid that somebody thinks gaming on laptop is silly. wake up. there are many people who enjoy games on their laptops these days. you can buy gaming laptop around $1000 or little more. even laptop doesn't say 'gaming', it is still powerful enough to play any game.
