I actually wanted this before I saw the Metacritic score...

Is it really that bad?

Its not bad. More I play the game, more i love it.

Ambiance, zombies 80' spirit, graphics and sounds are great.

Unfortunately, the gameplay is sometimes bugging.
For instance, sometimes the character selection get stuck, then you cannot select a character. Then the character die, killed by zombies...

The game may crash from time to time.

Fortunately, bugs are rare but happening from time to time. I saw a new patch is coming, I hope they will fix those issues.

Also, there are no real puzzles or enigmas. Only some traps there and there, but nothing that needs to use your brain

The multiplayer is ok, but unlike the solo mode, you play one map only. There is no progression through the campaign.
Also, there is no dedicated servers. Client hosting can be very laggy.

Not the ultimate old zombies (slow zombies) game, but its a nice game for sure, very slow paced and subtle

Never listen to scores a game is given, if you like the look of it, then buy it and rate it yourself.

The thing that's keeping me from getting it is the reports of bugs.

I'm really enjoying the game, and fortunately so far I haven't really experienced any major issues.

There's a demo for the game available, but it's browser-based.
At least you can get an idea of how the game plays:

While not great, i have to say I enjoy it.. but it feels very sluggish sometimes on mouse click and as stated hotkeys. it seems doorways block your mouse selections sometimes. As for no puzzles.. I figured they whre how to deal with teh zombies without dying. Unless you plan where to attack and watch how many you get at once your stimna will run out quick (or did you just use guns?) and you will get overwhlmed.

The only problem i have is not being able to skip the intro. Call me impatient.

Definately worth the sale price IMO.

It doesn't skip the very first you start the game. Once you have entered the Gas station for the first time, you can always skip it.

I thought it was probably worse than the Metacritic scores said. It feels like an unfinished game.

It has unresponsive AI on your characters, bugs that can make you lose items, and repetitive gameplay. The multiplayer component was absolutely tacked on just so they could say they had one, too.

Did you read the reviews or just check the score?

Metacritic score is indicative of consensus

And consensus gets it right more often than not. This game is bad, I keep trying to like it but I just keep feeling ripped off. Bad control, lack of saving, bugs, crash to desktop. Even though it was only $8 US, there are better places to spend your cash. I compare it to Kane and Lynch 2 as far as nasty taste left after playing it.
