Looks like a new version of the game is going to be released soon on STEAM:

• Full mod tools included!
• Custom levels by Mojang Specification’s Notch!
• A reworked engine, using native C++ instead of Flash. Should run much faster, and “runs on even utterly rubbish systems and ones with no dedicated gpu”!
• Enhanced resolution support and options!
• Proper save files, so clearing your flash cache won’t delete your saves!
• Bonus Analogue graphics mode!

Nice!! Although I would expect some STEAMworks integration aswell: achievements and STEAM Cloud support...

Just got the game today via Humble Bundle 3. Guess I won't be putting anymore progress into it until after v2 pushes through Steam.

I'd still give it a go in all honesty, can complete it in a few hours. Replaying through it a second time to get achievements etc is just going to be something fun to do in a few weeks.

Few days. The developer has to send it to Valve, who then look it over and inspect it doesn't destroy their servers, then place it in the servers to send out for updates.

I remember in the case of Beat Hazard, quick fixes for the summer camp thing usually went up 6-8 hours after the fix was sent, so the update should be soon (at best, tomorrow, at worst, a few days).

Hopefully there will be some achievements. I bought the game in Humble bundle, I'll wait for the update and then try it.

Achievements coming but not yet makes me not sure about whether or not I should play the game again when 2.0 is available. I'd hate to beat Veni Vidi Vici again only for achievements to arrive 30 minutes later with one of them being "beat Veni Vidi Vici".

EDIT: I just had a thought. If you want VVVVVVv2 on steam, and you're too impatient for it to update, you could just redeem the Steam version, and the standalone one (or the Desura copy, if you want), both from the Humble Bundle (you only have to pay once to do this), then when they both finish installing, exit Steam, delete all of the files from the Steam copy of VVVVVV1.2, and overwrite them with VVVVVV2. I just tried it, and it works. Doesn't break Steam or anything.
