Bug: Can't change inventory

Equipped the starting chaingun and ever since, I can't do anything with my inventory or even add more ammo. Don't feel like starting a new character, so if anyone knows an easy fix please post it here.

We are sorry you are experiencing problems with the game.
Can you equip ammo/weapons on an Armory or pick them up on the ground when you kill an enemy?

Verified the files through steam and the problem fixed itself. However, I have another question: Is there any way to re-spec? I feel like I went in the wrong direction with my character. Is there a way to do it through the command console?

There is no re-spec option in the game.
