FAKE HDR & COLOR SATURATION MOD - VELVET ASSASSIN

PS: Thank you to Replay Studios for creating this excellent and tense stealth/action game which is one of my favorite stealth/action games of all time.

Here is a mod for Velvet Assassin which improves the color saturation and creates more immersive and realistic lighting.

The mod was originally designed for Resident Evil 4 but still works exactly the same for Velvet Assassin.

It does not modify or replace any of the original game files & only has a small effect on performance.

The mod can be downloaded from:

- INSTRUCTIONS -

1. Download & Unzip 'Bloom_2.zip'

2. Copy the Files Named 'd3d9.dll' & 'fadehdr.fx' into the Game Install Directory (where replay.exe is located)

3. When you start the game the mod is turned ON by default but can be turned ON/OFF through using the 'numpad+' key

Sorry man, that looks pretty terrible. The original screenshots look incredibly better due to all the details being washed away by the fake looking bloom. The difference between the two is the first looks normal and the second looks like a nuclear bomb just went off a millisecond before the screenshot was taken.

Exactly what I thought regarding daytime screenshots, although at night mod screenshot looks better than the original one

it would appear that volumetric fog is being removed. Making the game look less real and more artificial.

I thought the game looked really fine unmodded with everything maxed out.

I'm using an LED HDTV for a monitor. Looks fine stock to me. Maybe his monitor settings make it look better than it really does.

I have to agree. The OP should recalibrate the color settings for his monitor and see if he still likes the mod afterward.

What's your point?

Doesn't work for a game like VA, that is set in the 1940s and is meant to look 'washed out'. Removing the fog is a big no-no to begin with, too.
