Share all tweaks and fixes here, I'll keep this post updated as frequently as possible. If you improve the graphics then please also post comparison screenshots.

Has anyone tried the whole .bak thing on the intro clips? I moved them out of the folder and the game didn't even start.

Keep the actual introduction videos (IntroDI_720p.wmv, IntroDI_720p_4_3.wmv) there and manually skip that otherwise you'll just get a black screen.

I hear renaming deadisland.exe through nvidiainspector to deadislandgame.exe may fix SLI.
Its a possible fix. I'm not entirely sure. |

Open a blank notepad document then drag-and-drop the file into it.

Increase your Graphics quality -- Overall improvements
Inside the Settings - Video ShaderPath(3) to ShaderPath(6) -- these are PS3 shaders FSAA() to FSAA(2) or even number to 16 FXFadeLevel(4) to FXFadeLevel(1) or 0 depending on available memory. |

i can confirm renaming or adding the deadislandgame.exe to the dead island profile in nvidia inspector does enable sli. i was getting 20-30fps before on my two 460's and now get a solid 60fps after adding the real exe

This isn't exactly a quality improvement. The shaders on the PS3 are simply made to be a bit more bloom heavy (glowy), so it's more a preference thing.
Besides I think this setting automatically reverts itself to "3" when changed on the PC. Those other tweaks mentioned are great though and seem to be working for me. There are some other tweaks than can be made in there too. The top of the file that's commented out of use with exclamation points in front are guidelines. For example vsync can easily be enabled by simple adding "VSync() " to the list, such as it suggested in the top section by the "!VSync()" that's shown. |

No screen tearing at all for me after adding it. I may have been wrong about the shader path, I need get some screens taken to see if it's actually changing or just reverting to it's default. I know that in the settings file it does in fact revert to 3, but I still gotta look into it more. |
