Graphics error message

Hi - I've just installed Terraria on an old Compaq R3000 laptop (2.8G P4, ATI Mobile Radeon 9000) which produces the following error message: 'No suitable graphics card found. Couldn't find Direct 3D driver that supports XNA framework reach profile'.

This is a surprise, as the ATI software has a Direct 3D section, although maybe the 'XNA framework reach profile' is the problem.

Is the error message right? We have XP SP3 and DirectX 9.0c, all freshly installed.

If Terraria is really so hardware sensitive, it would be nice to be able to try it before buying it!
