Crashing to Desktop Consistently

I believe it happens when loading a track, but every time it scrolls that 2nd player stat thing across the screen, BOOM it freezes, hit a key and to desktop I return. WTF? Video drivers are updated, everything is new on this PC and close to, if not, top of the line. Overclocked I7 up to like 4.3 Mhz, 8 GB ram, dual gtx 590s 3gb mem total.

Try de-fragging your game library?

Nice rig, which I had that much to spend on a computer, but seriously, this is not unexpected for a Codemasters game, we are still waiting for fixes for the same problem in Dirt 3, and still its not fixed, and the game was released in May.

OK... well it seems that switching it from DX11 to DX9 in the graphics options fixes the problem. Thanks all.

Try to verify integrity of your game cache, could be a single corrupted or damaged file that cause these problems!

I have the same issue and have read of other people having the same issue. It seems to be some kind of bug in the game, because I don't have any corrupted files, or video card problems.

Did... game still crashes randomly when loading. Sometimes it happens before the start screen, sometimes after and sometimes when loading a track.

The game crashed initially when going to China, and then again going to Turkey...

Don't know if this was noted, but I have had this problem in other games; had my i7 clocked up to 4.2GHz (water cooled), never thought it would be the CPU, being water cooled and all. Pal of mine said to knock the overclock back a bit; I did this and found that all games were ok at 4GHz, go above that and got problems again. O/C's can be the cause of many problems on a PC. I say my O/C is 4GHz in actual it is 3989MHz.

overclocking...

Sorry for the same post into two threads, but it is the same thing ;o)

http://forums.steampowered.com/forum...09&postcount=5

Also I remember, last problem I had so far was with GRID long time ago. On Asus motherboards when there was enabled "AI Overclock" to Auto value, even still with no overclocks, game suffered with slow-downs each several seconds. Changed to manual fixed that problem. It was old MB series (socket 478) Again, it was only grid causing problem on my PC that time ...just an example ;o)
