Since this is a flash game and there's no native controller support, here's a how-to to play with one anyway. I'm using it with a Xbox 360 Controller.
Step 1: Download ControlMK - Go here and download the newest version of ControlMK. It's a neat litte program to emulate key strokes via the controller. Step 2: Installation - I think this step should be pretty clear. Navigate to the folder where you downloaded ControlMK, double-click the exe file and follow the steps of the setup wizard. Step 3: Configuration - Start ControlMK via the start menu. It should list all the found controllers in a combobox on the top, right next to "Controllers Found:". Select yours and do the same with "Active Controllers:". - Download my "Binding of Isaac" profile: Click. (Note: Currently offline for more testing.) - In ControlMK you'll see a combobox right next to "Profiles:" and a button labeled with ">". Click it, select "Import" and navigate the profile you just downloaded. Step 4: Play! Now minimize ControlMK (it has to stay open for the entire time you're playing and can be found in the system tray) and start "The Binding of Isaac". Use the left stick to move, the right stick to shoot, A to use a bomb, RT to use an item, LT to use the one time items. Hope this helps someone

Another option is JoyToKey. It works with any joystick and has support for up to 6 analog controls (xbox 360 controller has 3, the triggers count as 1) and pov controls (the d-pad). It also has options for deadzone controls (helpful when your controller is too sensitive).
It's been around forever, and it's simple, and it works. Google it, or you can go here: http://www.electracode.com/4/joy2key...%20Version.htm |

I think that the game crashes because when I use Xpadder !
I will try another pad-emulator. But there has to be a change in the game options possis, even for lefties, who want to switch keys. Also fine would be to use the arrow keys of the numerous keyboard with the mouse, because mouse & arrow ks doesn´t work, like In.meinem.turm. above me suggests...

Thanks for the help. I got everything working with controlmk.
However, I do notice that sometimes I lose control of Isaac. When this happens, he moves in the opposite directions and shoots in the wrong directions. If I stop pressing buttons on my controller, I re-gain control. Anyone know why this is happening? |
