CM2: A crash DELETED MY PROFILE, how do I get it back?

I suffered a crash in CM2, a pretty bad one seeing as how it made my profile inaccessible, so now my profile is gone and the game is asking me to make a new one at start-up, and replaying all of these levels would really be tedious.

HOWEVER, my profile is still in the profiles directory on the hard drive, I'm just not seeing it in-game. Any ideas on how to fix it?

I got this problem before, too. Sadly, I couldn't find a solution and replayed all the puzzles again. It wasn't so bad - you'll still remember the solutions. I make backups of my profile every once in a while now

Why don't you try doing something like start a new profile and do a file comparison between your old and new? Maybe you can restore it somehow.
