So basically... Geometry Wars with non attractive graphics?
Hi,
I don't mean to insult the devs but to me, this is exactly what this is. So if someone can tell me the advantages of getting this game when you already own Geometry Wars... |

Its harder, its faster, it only costs 2 bucks, and the enemies are pure madness.

Leiche has it correct. It also has leaderboard support, achievements, customizable grid colors, and we have plans to extend it in the future.
If you can say all the above are true about GeoWars on the PC then you have no reason to get Arcadia. |

So purely superfluous stuff is the only thing that makes it different? EDIT: Please understand that I'm not trying to be overly-critical, I just already own Geometry Wars and I'm honestly wondering if this is going to be different enough to warrant a buy. The AI behaves differently. The speed of the game is much faster. Some people really, REALLY enjoy leaderboards. If you don't like the sounds of those things, then no, don't spend your money.

I understand your concern. No offense taken either.
I received tonnes of flak when I first published the game. I've had a small community supporting me, along with Mr Saijin. He's been a great help with it all, maintaining the forum in my absence and trying to keep everyone in the loop.

No, actually it plays differently, looks different and 'feels' very different. Trying to explain how in words is pretty pointless, though, just like comparing different 'modern' or WW2 FPS titles; you need to play them. And yes, its harder from the off.

It just isn't as good as Geometry Wars. This was one of the first games I bought on steam, and I bought it because I had played Geometry Wars on xbox at a friend of mine, and this looked similar. Then, of course, I found out geometry wars was also on steam (half a year later or so), and bought it. Since then I've not played this.

I like to think of it as Geometry Wars with constant free updates. lol
Sure Geometry Wars: Retro Evolved is fun. However Arcadia has the chance to actually be better. Arcadia could evolve to the point where it has 2 or 4 players online. Geometry Wars: Retro Evolved can only sit there as the company that made it is dead. Kind of harsh. The reality is that I'm curious to see where Arcadia can go rather than knowing that Geometry Wars will never change. It's made by only one person. The creator doesn't have to answer to anybody or pay anybody. Last edited by DollerDollah: 10-06-2011 at 08:53 PM. |

![]() In a couple of years, I'll most likely be working with a team. So it'll be interesting to see where Arcadia goes after that. |
