Problem launching game (Not responding)
I used to play Global Agenda through the end of beta and for some time right after launch. After not having run the game for almost a year, I wanted to see how it's changed.
Instead I found I can't launch Global Agenda. After I click "Launch" on the launcher I get an empty window that becomes "Not responding" if I try to interact with it in any way. Since I'm not the only one with a similar problem, I googled and tried various measures to try and solve the issue. I installed PhysX - unsuccessfully since I've got an Nvidia card that already has them in the regular driver. I installed latest video drivers. I installed OpenAL. I used the prereq_on.reg file. I re-made the firewall exception and then completely disabled the firewall. I made an exception and then completely disabled the antivirus I have (Avira). I removed the appdata in the user's roaming profile folder. I checked local Steam cache, no errors. I removed the game then redownloaded and reinstalled it. This kept me entertained for a while but now I can't seem to find any more hoops to jump through and the game still doesn't run. Is anyone providing support here, or is it just us users talking among ourselves in an alcoholics anonymous fashion? |

im assuming you've already been here?:What do I do if the game is crashing on or before the login screen, Dome City, or upon entering a match?
does the windows dialogue come up which says the application has crashed and is unresponsive? how long do you wait while the game is loading? if its your first install since beta it might be that you need to wait for it to load (for about a minute or two, if its longer then its definitely a crash). have you tried defraging in steam? have you tried setting GA to "run as administrator" |

Yes, I've gone through the points in the link.
There's no windows dialogue, it doesn't crash, it just stays in the "Not responding" state as it seems indefinitely. I waited for it for 15-20 minutes probably before ending the process to try again. There's no crash dump either. When I get back home I will try to set GA to run as administrator and see if that helps, thanks. |

I went through the checklist in your link item by item. Installed manually all prerequisites, turned off voip, set the shortcut to run as administrator. Nothing changed, game still hangs there witout a crash and not responding in an empty window.
Here's the last Launch.log file. I have a bunch very much like this one, except the last line seems to get truncated at different places. Code:

I emailed them. 2 weeks later, I am still waiting for something other than the automated reply.
Considering the frequency of this issue and its severity, the whole ordeal is getting more and more ridiculous. |

Update - when support finally got back to me, this is the recommendation that fixed the issue:
Code:
1.Download http://connect.creativelabs.com/openal/Downloads/oalinst.zip 2. Install the oalinst.exe 3. go in C:\Windows\System32 and copy OpenAL32.dll and opengl32.dll 4. Replace the two .dll from your C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\global agenda live\Binaries (or C:\Program Files (x86)\Hi-Rez Studios\games\global agenda live\Binaries if using the Hi-Rez Update Service) with the two .dll from that zip. |
