Game trys to redownload star wars republic commando depot.ncf

Was playing this game no problem yesterday. This morning i start up steam and then the game and steam begins to update star wars republic commando depot.ncf but never finishes the update to the file. I can tell it is this file because if i try and delete it says file is open by steam. Anyone have any ideas what up with this? I have deleted the file and uninstalled the game with the same result. This is the second time it has happened. I got past it before only by removing all references to the game in windows registry.

Oh and the game redownload is stopping at 2.004.4mb / 2,018.4mb and does not finish the download hense i cannot play the game

Try re-installing Steam already, if you got the fix could you please tell us what you did to fix it?
