hmm.. they should have put a "never played" option so people don't just put in false info.. this whole thing just seems to be for people who've played the game before and they're trying to filter out those that haven't.

I got an email that's apparently from noreply@steampowered.com, but the contents seem kinda weird. It's asking me to restart steam and fill in some survey before they hand out DotA 2 invites Normally stuff like this is an oughtright scam, but noreply@steampowered.com is Steam's official service email. Anyone else getting this email?

Its just a survey for DOTA, you may get chances to get the new game DOTA2.

This survey is heavily skewed toward those who already played the first DOTA. That does not bode well for newcomers.

My problem is I never played the real Dota, but I did play LoL and HoN and I watched many Dota Videos, including the International Livestreams.
Shall I just leave the whole suvery blank except for the last line about the time I played other Action-RTS Games?

It is really a bit stupid with the second part. Asking about prior experience with DOTA.

Ignoring completly, that there are many people out there never even touch DOTA, but playing LoL and HoN.

Funny thing is you can't even say that you have no experience at all ...

Whoever is responsible for this survey: Please try again. :P

At the moment I can't do this survey, as I never played the original DOTA ...

hopefully i get in soon.. i been dieing to play .. been trying to play dota1.. but the high delay and UI is just too old style for me now...

I am too used to HoN....

Okay this is what I did to make it work:

1) Copy link from your email and put it in mozilla or Internet explorer since google chrome doesn't work..

2) If it doesn't work, update your steam by opening steam, then click steam in the top left corner, and then click "check for steam client updates"

3) After updating, restart it and have it open. THEN copy the URL from your email to mozilla or IE once again and it should work.

4) Lastly, a box will appear through steam, so answer those questions and then you will complete your survey on mozilla or ie.
(not sure about safari, but good lucky!)

I believe that portion of the survey isn't required so you should still be able to submit it.

EDIT: I'm getting errors trying to submit hardware data. 'there was a problem communicating with steam servers, please try again later.'

EDIT2: Tried many times and it eventually worked
